2016 Reading Resolutions

Happy New Year!

Hello to all of my old followers (it has been quite a while since my last post) and welcome to any new followers who have joined me in my absence. I hope that you like the new look of the blog! I wanted a new look for the new year! In my absence, I did continue to read. I read quite a lot actually. This year, I read 53 books! As I looked at my 2014 Goodreads challenge, I realized that even though I read much more this year, the quality of the books I read was not high. This defiantly influenced some of my reading resolutions for 2016.

Now for the reading resolutions…

  1. This year, I will not have a Goodreads reading goal. I noticed as I was looking through the books I read this year that I read a lot of graphic novels and shorter books in an attempt to reach/beat my set goal. A lot of the books were of lesser quality and I stayed away from bigger books because I didn’t think I would have time to finish them for the challenge. Even though I will not do the challenge, I will still keep track of my reading and ratings on Goodreads.
  2. In 2016, I want to expand my reading horizons. In 2015, I read a lot of graphic novels and YA books. I want to read different types of books and genres. To help me with this, I am going to do the Popsugar reading challenge. The list has a lot of different reading challenges that are definitely out of my comfort zone. If I complete the challenge that is great. But I am really just using this challenge as a way to diversify my reading and read some interesting books. Most of all, I look forward to reading whatever I want without the pressure of a specific number. Here is a link to the Popsugar Challenge.
  3. I want to add more content to my blog. I want to incorporate other things that I am interested in besides reading. Recently I have been really interested in planner videos on Youtube. I recently got a Me and My Big Ideas Happy planner and I love organizing and decorating the weeks with Washi tape and stickers. This year I also want to get back into my fitness and wellness journey. I want to get back into my yoga practice, meditation and healthy eating. I would like to share some of that on this blog to help keep me accountable. I also enjoy cooking and all things fashion. I really think that by adding this new content, I will be able to post more frequently and show you some of the other things I enjoy doing.
