April TBR Challenge: A Book that Won an Award

April Challenge

This month I have pulled “read an award winning book” from my TBR challenge jar. After scouring my shelves, I found five books that would fall into this category. I want to challenge myself this month  to read as many of these books as possible. I think I can do it. I have April vacation this month, so that is a week off from teaching and more time for reading! It will also be a challenge because I am not good with TBR’s, but I am aiming to read all 5.

Here are my choices and the awards that they won.

1. The One and Only Ivan by Katherine Applegate: John Newbery Medal

2. Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe by Benjamin Alire Saenz (Printz Award, Stonewall Book Award, Pura Belpre Award, Lamda Literary Award)

3. Stolen by Lucy Christopher (Printz Award)

4. The Shock of the Fall by Nathan Filer (Costa Book of the Year)

5. Paper Towns by John Green (Edgar Award)

I am really excited about this month’s reading. They are all award winning books, so it should be an amazing reading month. I will keep you posted with my thoughts and ratings.

Have you read any of these books? Which one do you think I should read first? Let me know in the comments section. 🙂
