February TBR Challenge and Theme Month

february challenge2

Happy February!

This month’s challenge is to read a book to movie or T.V adaptation and them watch the adaptation. I am very excited to do this challenge. I have February vacation coming up and this is a perfect way to stay out of the bitter cold that is plaguing the Northeast. Last month, I picked one book to fulfill the first challenge (read a book with 500+ pages) and I think that was too rigid for me. I became overwhelmed and did a challenge jar redo. This month I am going to have a few options that will fulfill the requirement and see how I feel as the month progresses. Also, I have not read five books yet, so these are book to movie adaptations that I currently have on my shelves.

Here are my choices:

  1. Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen
  2. Sense and Sensibility by Jane Austen
  3. The Time Traveler’s Wife by Audrey Niffenegger
  4. Silver Linings Playbook by Matthew Quick
  5. Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn (however, this may not fit the theme criteria…keep reading!)

This month I also want to have a theme month! I don’t want to do this every month, but since Valentine’s Day is in February, I am making this the month of romantic reads. Now, I do not mean those Harlequin romance novels. I do not like those types of novels. I am talking about reading books where the romantic relationship is the main focus. It does not have to be a mushy read either. Just one that deals with romances and/or relationships.

I shall call it… Falling in love February!

What are your reading plans for the month of February? Any suggestions for my theme this month? Let me know in the comments section. 🙂
